Penelope watched the scene unfold in front of her, and she saw how angry Umbridge was becoming, casting spells in every different direction. It was only a matter of time before one of her spells would hit one of the students.
"I'm really going to hate doing this," she whispered to Alice. She was enjoying the show, and though she personally had nothing against Professor Umbridge at the moment, she still was not going to sign up to be the teacher's pet.
She heard Gryffin sitting at the table next to theirs, laughing about Umbridge. When Peeves began throwing books at Professor Umbridge, Gryffin nearly fell from his chair laughing. "Thats one way to throw the book at someone," he said threw his fights of laughter.
Penelope rolled her eyes at the corny joke, and pulled her wand out from her pocket. She aimed it at Peeves, who caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and now turned to face Penelope.
"Sorry Peeves," Penelope said quietly, hoping to not catch anyone's attention. She silently cast the skurge charm. The charm scared Peeves and he flew through the wall after whining about not being able to have any fun.
Penelope quickly put her wand back in her pocket, and resumed watching as Umbridge glared around the room, looking for someone to blame.

"Well that was a laugh " said Erin
"Gosh did she not know the Impdimeta spell wouldn't work on a poltergeist" said Martha drumming her nails on the desk in a bored fashion.
"honestly whats the Ministry coming too?" said Erin. "Hey Kain, your not laughing? How come?" she asked her slytherin friend

Alice giggled when Peeves started throwing books at Umbridge this lesson was getting better than she expected!
She smiled warmly when Penelope took it upon herself to stop him, it was probably for the best Umbridge looked like she was about to explode! She was also looking for some one to blame no doubt it would be a gryffindor she blamed.
Alice sighed and concentrated on her book hoping to avoid the stares of the teacher who was obviously glaring daggers at the gryffindor section of the class

Kain sighed, and drummed his fingers softly on the desk, as Peeves flew in. He leaned back in his chair, and saw Draco laughing hysterically, and rolled his eyes. He wasn't supposed to hate Peeves, but Kain did. So much. Peeves never bothered him personally, but Kain couldn't stand the ghost. "I'm not laughing, Erin, Because it's not funny." Kain spoke monotonely, and stared at Penelope. Well, the back of Penelope. "Sorry Erin, I'm in a mood, as usual." He smiled at her. After all, he was supposed to be kind to Slytherins, it always helped his house's reputation if everyone was friendly with one another. He was friends with Erin, but today he was just excited to talk to Penelope, after school. So, naturally, he wasn't paying much attention to anything.
The real truth, was that he was hardly paying attention when Peeves came into the room. He was busy reading. Okay, that's a lie. He was busy thinking about Penelope, and what he would say to her, while pretending that he was reading.

Professor Umbridge glared at all the students, especially the Gryffindors. Someone was going to be blamed for this. No one makes a fool of Dolores Umbridge, no one. She hated how all the students were laughing, laughing at her.
To make things worse, she knew that it really wasn't anyone's fault. That no one caused that annoying, disgusting Peeves to barge into HER classroom and terrorize her. But this would not stop her from blaming someone, holding someone accountable. After all, her new title at Hogwarts did give her the authority to do as she saw fit. Right now, she saw fit to make an example of someone, but who? Who should it be?
"Which one of you called that.. that.. thing, into this room?" She yelled, glaring at Harry.

Kyle had been laughing along with everyone else, and it all ended much too soon for his taste. Seeing the pink clown running around for her life as she had to dodge books and bottles. Leave it to his cousin to ruin the fun for everyone by sending Peeves away. Though he wasn't sure if anyone else had seen Penelope draw her wand, obviously she hadn't wanted to draw any attention to herself and did the spell quietly.
"Which one of you called that.. that.. thing, into this room?" Professor Umbridge had asked, close to hysterics. The question was perfect for Kyle, it took all the control he could muster to keep a smile from his lips as he raised his hand.
"Professor Umbridge?" He said, sounding calm and very polite.
Professor Umbridge looked annoyed until she saw who it was that had spoken her name. When she saw that it was he who had called for her attention, she forced a pink smile.
"Yes Mr. Delani?" Professor Umbridge asked.
"I saw Penelope draw her wand. Perhaps she called Peeves into the room." Kyle said, unable to keep the smugness out of his voice.
He watched happily as Professor Umbridge glared down at Penelope.

Kain heard Kyle say that Penelope was the culprit, and he couldn't stand for that.
"No, Penelope heard me call Peeves. She was trying to use a counter curse to send him away before he came in."
Kain spoke, standing up. It was strange, he had only just really met Penelope the day before, and now he was saving her from whatever Umbridge was capable of.
"I did it."
He spoke, softly. Noticing that she didn't hear him well, he raised his voice, and his head. After all, he had to act ashamed, no?
"I called Peeves in."
He spoke louder, and looked straight into the human-sized toad's eyes.
"Not Penelope."

Penelope turned around, her mouth open in surprise when she heard Kain say that he was the one who called Peeves. She didn't want him to get into trouble, especially since she knew that there was no way that he would have summoned the annoying ghost.
She turned back around to look at the Professor who was still looking at her.
"Very well Mr. Winters.. 50 points will be subtracted from Slytherin." Professor Umbridge stated, still not removing her eyes from Penelope.
"50 points will also be subtracted from Gryffindor for unauthorized use of magic." She finished.
Penelope glared at the teacher, all Pen was guilty of was trying to help this horrid dragon toad lady.. and she gets punished? Well she was sure that it could have been worse. Who knew what Umbridge would have done to her if Kain hadn't stepped in.
She told herself that she needed to thank him properly after class was over.

Kain sat down. Well, more like slumped down. He looked utterly heartbroken, even though he wasn't. Well, he was upset, because he tried to prevent anything from happening to Penelope, and that didn't even work. Honestly.
Well, Kain comforted himself, by wondering what could've happened to Penelope, had he not helped her out, and taken the blame. She would've had it alot worse than Kain had. And, maybe Kain knew that. Maybe that was why he took the blame.
Because nothing would be worse than to know that he could've prevented Penelope from something far worse, and that he did nothing.

"Are you all right Kain, no-body blames you for peeves, and certainly not for loosing the house points, what chance do any of the houses actually have with that old toad taking points off left, right and centre," Erin said in a low undertone, the quiteness wasn't really neccasary as people all over the class were having muffled conversations while the exitement subsided, no doubt that would be the most interesting thing to happen in a very long time for the once exciting DADA classes.
Erin was worried for her friend though, he looked really down in the dumps slouched in his chair like that.

"You ok Pen" asked Alice to her friend who seemed a little down trodding and also seemed to be thinking something over.
"Don't worry about the points we can win them back" said Alice thoughtfully "And I'm sure Kains happy to have bit the bullet for you" she said commenting with a sly smile

Penelope smiled at her friend Alice, "Oh I'm fine," she assured. At the mention of Kain biting the bullet for her, Penelope turned to take another look at Kain who looked rather upset now. Penelope didn't like to see Kain looking like that. Truth was, it made her even more upset and angry with the toad lady.
Perhaps he regretted standing up for her? It wasn't like she had asked for him to, but she was grateful for it. She turned back to Alice and shrugged, "He doesn't look too happy right now. I wonder what he's thinking." she whispered.
She hoped that class would be over soon, she was in a hurry to escape this insane asylum.

Suprisingly the little incident with Peeves had taken up the whole class time. Oh well it was completely worth it.
As all the students were packing their belongings away The weird pink teacher who looked more like a trampled strawberry as every one left the class room.
He wandered down to the courtyard with Blaize and some other slytherins they were all in midst of chatter about that lesson.

When the lesson was ending Alice understood that Penelope would probably want to thank Kain for taking the blame.
Alice linked arms with Ginny waved goodbye to Will and walked over to see a friend she hadn't seen in years.
"Erin?" asked Alice "Oh my gosh I haven't seen you in years" she cried laughing "How you been then Hannah still giving you grief" asked Alice mentioning Erin's horrid little sister.
Ginny looked a bit uncofortable at talking with Slytherins but Alice just smiled. "No worries Ginny I've known Erin all my life she won't bite she's a friendly Slytherin" she said reausringly.
Alice then spotted Martha and greeted her as well it was like a huge childhood reunion, October, Martha, Erin it was good though Alice was happy.
She wandered out of the DADA room with them and decided against waiting for Penelope who'd probably want to be alone thanking Kain.

"Hi, you got here then, so how is Hogwarts compared to your old school, i'm Erin by the way, Slytherin though i'm still not sure way" Erin said revealing a wolfish grin and holding out her hand after hugging her old childhood friend. They all walked into the bright sunshine towards the courtyard, where the fountains were spraying water high into the air making mini rainbows.
