(OOC - I figured I won't be the only one to get a detention so i made a thread ;D Let me know if that's not ok... *sheepish expression*)
Martha walked into the DADA classroom and saw Professor Umbridge sitting behind her desk. The toad-like woman stood up and gave her trademark “hum-hum” before she launched into a rant, saying that locking teachers in their offices was wrong, she should be ashamed of herself etc. etc. Martha wasn’t actually listening; she was plotting pranks inside her head.
Martha snapped out of her daydream when Umbridge finished her rant and told her she would be writing the lines "I will not be a fool" for what she did to Filch. She handed her a piece of parchment and a quill, telling her she would need no ink.
Martha took the items and sunk down on a chair, her eyebrows raised high. Lines? Maybe the old toad was loosing her touch? A sharp stinging from her hand dragged her back to the task. She was stunned to see the ink was not black, but red. Martha stared at Umbridge, taken aback.
‘Can I help you with anything?’
Martha snapped her mouth close and she shook her head, her eyes narrowing. No way was she going to give the old toad the satisfaction of knowing that it was hurting her.
When her detention was almost over, the old toad walked smugly over to her and collected her paper – before she let out a loud and terrified scream. At first, Martha didn’t have a clue what was going on, but then she looked down and saw Fluffy curled around her wrist.
Martha felt a grin returning to her face. No way was the pain in her hand going to stop her from enjoying this. ‘It’s just a snake, Professor,’ Martha said, standing up and moving her wrist and Fluffy further towards her. ‘He won’t bite.’
She waited for Umbridge to make a comment on how all Parseltongues should be locked up, but Martha wasn't going to pay attention if she did. All she wanted to do was get to Hogsmead and away from this evil woman.
