Alice grinned happily, quidditch was one of her all time favourites! She had played on the team at WADA and it was one of things she enjoyed one of the things she had actually been good at. She had played seeker on the house team for four years, what she enjoyed about quidditch the most was the friendly compitition and the freedom of flying... 'when do try outs start?' asked Alice. She yawned again maybe she would have a quick nap she sure as hell needed one. Alice leant back curling herself up into a ball and listening to her companions conversations barely keeping her eyes open

"Hmm...they should be shortly after today. Knowing Hogwarts, the tryouts are probably two days from now. Hogwarts is pretty big, when it comes to quidditch." Kain said, looking out the window, at the now rushing landscape that was passing him by. "Penelope, I would assume you are going to try out for chaser again this year?" He asked her, softly, noticing Alice's mood. Kain himself was tired, since he wasn't that used to being up during the day. Seriously, over the summer, Kain spent most of his time sleeping. He needed to gain the energy to get through the year. It seemed like everyone was incredibly tired today, and Kain thought it was slightly comical. Kain always prepared for the school year by slowly sleeping less and less. But, this year wasn't working so well. Who knows? Maybe he was really letting his age catch up to him. He smirked at the thought, and was shocked out of his thoughts by Draco's body crashing up against him. The kid had fallen asleep. Kain's grey eyes widened immeadiatly, as he figeted underneith Draco's weight, noticing Penelope's gaze towards the two. "Draco!" He whispered, and tried to push the kid off of him, yet he didn't want to wake him up. Kain only needed to push him enough to lean him against the opposite wall of their side. Without making a big fuss, Kain lightly shoved his best friend towards the wall, and Draco flopped over, remaining asleep. Kain's eyes slowly went back to their original size, as he rolled them. He couldn't help but start to chuckle. What a morning.

"Oh definitely. Quidditch is really the only excuse I can think of to fly during the school year," Penelope replied, "Are you planning on trying out Kain? Don't let me scare you." The last part was just a tease, she knew that Kain wouldn't be troubled with her quidditch playing in the least. In fact he was a great quidditch player himself and Penelope was greatly impressed.
Penelope covered her mouth and let out a yawn, she wasn't really sleepy but being in a compartment with two sleeping people was making her that way.
When Draco fell on Kain and began slightly snoring, Penelope couldn't help but laugh, the whole sight was comical. She especially enjoyed the part where Kain pushed Draco over to the other side and Draco's eyes didn't open at all.
"Apparently we're a bore," she commented with a grin. She was tempted to wake Draco up but thought better of it for the time being, besides he looked rather innocent when he slept.
"Did you and your sister do anything interesting over break?" Penelope asked Kain.

"Haha, yes, I'm going to try out for Keeper again." Kain said, knowing very well that he would make it. He had every year since, and no one was competing with him. Kain knew that he and Draco were putting on an odd show for Penelope, and rolled his eyes. "Yes, apparently." He agreed, and looked over at his blond friend. "Though, he does look kinder when he's asleep." He laughed softly, for both his and Penelope's voice levels had gone down to a slight whisper. They didn't want to wake their sleeping companions, after all. "Well, back to quidditch, I haven't gotten the chance to tell, you, but you are a very good player." He added, and smiled lightly. He was actually enjoying the company, suprisingly. "Well, Illyanna went to Paris, actually. She was away for two weeks, and seemed to really enjoy it." He was left at his own home, which he lived alone in. He wouldn't bring that up, unless she asked him. "What about you? Anything interesting?"

Penelope's eyebrows raised slightly because of the coincidence of Kain voicing two things that had gone through her mind. "Don't tell me you're a mind reader," she said jokingly, then hurried on to explain, "I was just thinking of how innocent Draco looks while he's sleeping." She glanced at Draco, then returned her electric blue eyes back to Kain.
"Thanks for the compliment, you're one of the best Keepers that I've ever seen, though of course if you tell anyone I said that, I'll have to deny it." She stated in a teasing manner. She could imagine what her team's keeper would say if word got out that she preferred Slytherin's.
She let her eyes travel up to Kain's extravagant hair, and it brought a question that she was dying to ask. However, before she even had time to open her mouth something happened.
All the lights in the Hogwarts Express went out.
Penelope hated the dark. She hated the fact that she couldn't see, and who knew what could be lurking in the darkness?
"I wonder whats going on," She said, her voice barely above a whisper. She hoped that the worry wasn't audible.

"Haha, Of course I'm not a mind reader." He replied, and coughed softly. Hmm, maybe he was coming down with something.
"And you're welcome. But, of course, I'll have to deny it as well, I wouldn't want people thinking that I have a soft spot for good chasers, especially if they are Gryffindors." He chuckled, and saw Penelope's eyes wander towards his hair. He got that look very often. He was going to ask her why, but then the lights went out.
"Hmm, maybe the power just went out." Kain suggested, hoping that it was the case. "It'll be up soon, I'd expect." He said, and looked out the window. The train had stopped moving. He wasn't afriad, since he felt that nothing bad would happen. He wasn't afraid of the darkness, either, since he used to live in the darkness. Kain assumed that Penelope was atleast slightly worried, he could tell easily by listening to her voice. He sighed. "Well," He breathed, peering at Draco and Alice. "Atleast they aren't awake for this. Knowing Draco, he'd be making a bigger deal out of this than needs to be made." Kain decided the easiest way to let this darkness pass was to get back on their old conversation. "You were looking at my hair." He stated, and it seemed as if it was a random statement, but Kain said this to most people who did so. "Does it distract you? Because I get that alot. McGonagall told me first year I should cut it, and I did, alittle, and it just grew back." He chuckled, remembering his first year at Hogwarts. He was officially the most interesting person to look at during dinner.

Illyanna laughed, and turned to Neville. "I went to Paris! It was beautiful!" SHe exclaimed, extremely excited. She had always dreamed of going to Paris, ever since she was a little girl. "Kain stayed home though." She said, alittle upset. She was extremely close to Kain, and was upset when her father didn't think it was a good idea for him to come along. "So Luna, are you excited for school this year?" She asked, and Neville turned his attention to the other blonde in the room. "I can't wait to try out for quidditch. I realized, I might do the sport sometime, and so, hopefully, I'll do okay for my first tryout. Kain taught me some stuff over the summer." She gleamed, and took out a picture from her backpack. It was a moving image, showing Kain and Illyanna, practicing quidditch. "See?" Kain had thrown a quaffle in Illyanna's direction, and Illyanna caught it, slightly clumsily, and shot it into the ring. The two siblings began laughing, as Kain congradulated her on her efforts. "I think both of you should try out. Imagine how fun that would be?" She grinned, and Neville shook his head. "Not for me, Plus, we would all be on different teams!" He stated, and Illyanna sighed, "Oh...that's right." She shrugged. "Oh well, we could still do it. I hate being the only person out of our friends in Hufflepuff. No one is in Hufflepuff, except for Cedric Diggory. And...That didn't turn out so good." She replied, remembering his death vividly.

Penelope felt foolish for worrying about the lights being out. It was just that she had been afraid of the dark ever since she was a small child. She could tell from the lack of movement on the train that it had stopped moving.
'Kain's right, its probably nothing to worry about. Besides, you're a witch.. wasn't there a spell to make light? What was it? Oh right,' Penelope thought to herself
"Lumos," Penelope whispered, holding up her wand. Instantly a bright light appeared, enough to lighten up the compartment. She noticed how relaxed Kain seemed and she was envious of his cool. She wasn't the type to lose her cool, not usually. Or atleast she hid it when she did.
A smile brightened her face when Kain brought her attention back to his hair. "No it doesn't distract me, I was just wondering how you get it to stand up like that. Sometimes my hair doesn't want to do anything and so I have to just throw it in a ponytail." She explained. Obviously today was one of those bad hair days because her hair was in a simple braid.

The room was lit by Penelope's glowing wand, and Kain peered at Draco and Alice, to see if they had been awoken.
Nope.
He looked back towards Penelope, and couldn't help but burst out into a fit of laughter when she asked him the question. "Hairspray, i guess. It actually just looks like this when I wake up, and it takes alittle bit of styling to make it look presentable." He said, through his soft laughter. His eyes started watering, he was laughing so much. Wiping the tears away, Kain regained his composure. "I can't believe you asked that!" He ruffled his hair, and looked at Penelope's own black hair. "Are you planning on stealing my style, Miss Delani?" He asked, casually, and took out his own wand. The light from just Penelope's charm wasn't bright enough for both of them, so he too chanted, "Lumos." The room lit up even more, and Kain closed his eyes shortly, suprised by the light. "Yeah, I like it better with one, to be honest." He said, not flirtatiously, just because he couldn't stand the brightness of both spells. He flicked his wand, and the tip went dark.

Luna looked at the photograph only slightly paying attention. Quidditch really wasn't that interesting to her. What did interest her was Illyanna's brother. It wasn't like how most of the girls were interested in Kain at Hogwarts, not that she didn't think he was good looking, he just wasn't her type.
What interested her was the fact that he hadn't changed at all since she first saw him. Not even the slightest little bit. Surely she wasn't the only one who noticed this. Even his sister has shown signs of getting older, so it wasn't a family thing.
"You should try out Illyanna," she finally stated, assuring her friend.
"My father says that there's been sightings of Umgubular Slashkilters in Paris, did you see any?" She questions.
When the lights on the train went out, Luna just kept talking as if nothing at all was happening.

Illyanna smiled when Luna suggested that she try out. Illyanna didn't really need the two of them to be hopping with joy about it, she just needed a little help to realize that she was good enough. "I think I'm going to try out for Beater, actually." She said, and Neville looked at her with wide eyes. "You? a Beater?" He asked, obviously suprised that little fragile Illyanna wanted to hit the bludgers with a bat. "Yeah! Because no one would expect it!" She giggled, and looked towards Luna. "Umm....I don't know. What do Umgubular Slashkilters look like? I might've seen some." She said kindly.
And once the lights went out, Illyanna froze. She was petrified of the dark. Neville quickly took out his wand, and spoke. "Lumos." He whispered, and the compartment lit from his wand. Gaining back her composure, Illyanna took out her own wand, and did the lumos charm as well. Feeling way better, she went back to her conversation with Luna.

Kain's laughter caused Penelope to laugh too. Though she laughed even harder once Kain had asked if she was planning on stealing his hairstyle.
"And have you place a curse on me to make my hair fall out when it looks better than yours? Never," she replied, laughter in her voice. She had attempted to keep a straight face while teasing him, but it didn't quite work out that well since she broke out in a fit of giggles afterwards.
Her eyes had already become accostomed to the dim light by the time that Kain had lit his wand, and so the compartment became too bright even for her. Besides, the dim light was comforting, or perhaps it was just the feeling of the room. Two of the companians peacefully asleep, and the other carrying on a enjoyable conversation with her. So she was thankful when Kain decided to quinch his light.
"Its a good thing Draco was so exhausted you know. He'd be throwing a fit if he were awake right now. Screaming that his father would find out about the incompetience of the enginer or something," Penelope replied. Giggling at the visual in her head. Then her thoughts went on to something else.
"You know, I'm actually surprised that Crabbe and Goyle aren't in here by now," she stated.

"I think you being a beater is a brilliant idea. The boys would be too busy looking at you to pay attention to the bludgers." Luna stated in her usual dreamy tone. She wasn't at all affected by the darkness, nor the new light coming from her friends' wands.
She focused her attention on her friend Illyanna because she knew that her friend was afraid of the dark. "You know there's nothing to be afraid of. What did you do in Paris?" she questioned, hoping to get her friend focused on happy things.
Luna loved her friends because the truth was that she really didn't have that many. Most people thought she was quite odd and some even called her nicknames like Loony. She was grateful to the people who considered her a friend.
Especially for her best friend Illyanna, even if her brother was a vampire.

Kain smiled, "I don't think anyone's hair can look better than mine." He stated, while running his hand through it. "And yes, i would put a curse on you if your hair got even close to looking as fabulous as mine." He joked, and turned his attention to Draco Malfoy. "Yes, you're probably right." He agreed, picturing Draco throwing a fit about the train's troubles.
Switching back to the topic, he rolled his eyes at the comment about Crabbe and Goyle. "Those two?" He asked, slightly amazed that she would even bring it up. "I can't stand being around stupid people, sorry. I kicked them out a while ago." He said, matter-of-factly. He really couldn't stand the two. "I need someone who can carry a conversation, and not bring up food every second, or make a stupid suggestion." He muttered, remembering talks with Crabbe and Goyle. "Why, do you like them or something?"

Illyanna's everlasting smile couldn't grow more, once Luna said that "All the boys would be looking at her," It was always a teenage girl's weakness to be called pretty. Seriously, every girl wanted to be called beautiful, or, in this case, "Distracting." Illyanna was one of those girls who had to give herself pep talks in the morning.
It worked though.
"Well, In Paris, I visited the Eiffel Tower, of course. I even got a picture in the Wizards Box, underneith it!" She nodded, and wished that she had brought the photograph along. "I also visited the Arc De Triumphe, which was awesome. And plenty more sites. It was fun!" She looked at Neville, who was petting his cactus. "Neville, that's weird." She giggled, and he shrugged. "I know."
