Draco stepped into the common room he so often called home. "Well, here is the Slytherin common room." Draco started, and looked at the group of first years, and forced a smile. "And welcome to Slytherin." He finished, looking over at Kain, who now sat lounging in a comfy armchair. Draco had decided to take Kain along, knowing he would get more attention if Kain was there. After all, Kain seemed to have gotten many of the first year girls attention. At first, the iconic young man was helpful, and spoke to all of the first years, but now, he was being lazy. "Up the stairs and to the right, are the girls dormitories, and the same for the boys, on the left. You may go up and choose your bed, and unpack. All of your belongings are there." He finished, and let the first years go, after reminding them that if they have any questions, they can ask him. Draco noticed lots of the young girls looking at Kain, who was now reading the Daily Prophet. "Thanks for the help, Kain." Draco said sarcastically, and Kain shrugged.

"You are head boy, I'm not. And I knew you could do it. All you had to do was tell them where to go." He said, and smiled up at Draco, who sat opposite him, in another green armchair. "Well, you did a very good job." Kain said, and looked back at the article. It was about the Minister of Magic. Goodness, Kain hated that man. It seemed that, he was always changing sides. It was annoying as hell. He threw the Daily Prophet into the fire, and laid back. All of a sudden, Crabbe and Goyle walked into the common room, slowly, and timidly, walking towards Draco. Kain raised his eyebrow, and peered over at them. Crabbe and Goyle didn't dare make eye contact with Kain. It was like they expected him to be a basilisk, and petrify them, if they looked at him. Kain smirked, and watched the two food-obsessed dim-wits walk over to Draco, obviously something on their mind.

Draco peered in the direction on Crabbe and Goyle, and raised his eyebrows, as if, mutely asking, "What do you want?"
The two walked over fearfully, and Draco couldn't help but laugh. They had every reason to be afraid of Kain, and they knew it. Kain hated their guts, after all, and if it came to the point, he would not feel any guilt beating the two up. "Um..Draco, we were wondering if you were rooming with us this year, or not?" Draco laughed at the two. "No, Kain and I are rooming together," He said, and Kain looked at him over the new section of newspaper in his hand.

Honestly, Draco assumed to much. Kain sighed, and rolled his eyes. "Yes, Draco and I are rooming together, like usual. Is that all?" He asked, realizing he was talking with alot of malice in his voice. He hated that. He really did. Why couldn't he be nicer?
The only people he was nice to, and completely nice to, had been Alice, and Penelope, and even so, he had just kindof met both of them, or "really meet" in Penelope's case. Kain was so annoyed at himself, for he was even mean to his best friend.
Why?
"Sorry, guys." He said, but this time he meant it, and Draco looked at him with a hint of suprise. "You can both room next to us though." He suggested, and winced thinking of hearing their dreadful snorring at night. Yawning again, Kain put down the new paper. He stood up, and departed, saying only, "Bedtime fellows," As he walked up the spiralling stairs.
Until tommorow.

The next morning came quickly, and Kain was so tired, he could hardly dress himself. He usually woke up earlier than Draco, and took a quick shower, did his hair, and got ready. Draco was still sleeping as the young man walked out of the bathroom, newly washed, and drying his mane-like mass of hair. "Draco, c'mon sleeping beauty, wake up." He poked the younger wizard, and shook him lightly awake. Boy, this child. The platinum haired boy rolled out of bed, as if forcing himself awake. The two got ready, and realized they were late for breakfast. "Oh crap, lets run Draco, i need food." And with that, the two Slytherin's headed to the great hall.

The first day of school was a drag, but then what did you expect when one of the best subjects had a teacher that did not approve of practical lessons and looked like a toad. Erin sighed, the common room was nearly empty and she had one of the good arm-chairs by the fire, work was splayed all over the table and her divination homework had just been finished, but not up to her usual standards, this being because divination was Erin worst subject. Crystal balls, tea-leaves and tea-cups just didn't seem very practical to her, it was all so gypsyish and she couldn't appreciate the art it took to read those cryptic little clues. The rain lashed against the windows and overhead the usual ghostly green glow that the lake cast over the Slytherin commonroom, was dark as pitch.

'Hey, guys!' Martha hopped into the Slytherin common room and was instantly greeted by miserable faces. 'Wow.' She looked at her friend Erin, who was staring glumly into the fire, something obviously on her mind. 'Who died?'
Martha had had a fun first day of Hogwarts. She had met up with Peeves and convinced him that her brother, Elliot (otherwise known as Smelly-Ellie, much to his irritation) had called him a pansy.
Needless to say, Peeves had not been happy with a certain Ravenclaw and had proceed to launch water-balloons at him. Elliot had confronted Martha but she had just smiled sweetly and hopped off she her next lesson. Maybe her (slightly cruel) pranks was one of the reasons that she had been sorted into Slytherin. That and the fact that she could talk to snakes.
But there was one thing that had rained on Martha's happy day. Umbridge. Otherwise known as the devil woman. Martha missed Lupin. Not only was he fun to stare at (she admitted that she may have had a slight crush on him) but he was also a great teacher. Umbridge wasn't.
Martha perched herself on the arm of the armchair Erin was occupying. 'What's up with you then?' she asked, peering into Erin tea-cup and trying to work out what the tea-leaves splodges meant.

Kain had walked back to the common room after his homework session with Penelope. Erin and Martha were sitting beside eachother, and Draco was sitting lazily in an armchair, reading his Divination book. "Hey guys." He muttered, loud enough for all three to hear him. He threw his over-the-shoulder bag onto a couch, and lounged on it. He was tired, and he knew there was a party in the room of requirement, but he was still unsure as to whether or not he wanted to go. "Are any of you going to that party in the Room of Requirement?" he asked placed his hands behind his head, to prop up his mass of hair.
He saw Martha looking intently at Erin's tea-cup, which confused Kain, Erin was doing homework for next chapter. She obviously liked to get ahead of everyone else, and this was clear. Smiling gently, he sat up, and placed his head in his hands. He was tired, but, he wanted to see Penelope at the party. If Draco, Erin, and Martha were going, than he would as well, but if not, he would remain here in the comfy Slytherin Common room.

'Party?' Martha lifted her head and looked up at Kain. Her expression brightened considerably. 'Absolutely!'
Parties were always a great chance to pull pranks and wreck havoc. She poked Erin playfully. 'You're going too aren't you, Erin?' she asked, practically bouncing now. 'We'll have to get Alice to go along too! Are you going Kain? Draco?'
She looked between her fellow Slytherins. She knew Draco rarely turned down a party but she wasn't sure about Kain. He didn't really seem up to the idea, if his expression was anything to go by. 'I'm sure it'll be a laugh,' she said, hopping up and unwisely ruffling Kain's hair. She was sure he wouldn't be happy about that, after all he wasn't a dog or a three-year-old but Martha was suddenly in a very hyper mood and she usually did things without really thinking about them.

"It happened again today," Erin said in a low undertone so only Martha could hear her, she hoped that her friend would twig onto what she meant, 'it' being the Wolf. Then again, Martha had always been fine with her transformations, the first to accept her back. Erin thought this was something to do with her own rare ability.
Her tea cup looked like a complete and utter mess, it didn't look like any pictures, honestly it just looked like wet tea-leaves. She had nearly gagged on them whilst preparing the task, tea just wasn't her thing.
Kain came in and asked about the party. Swiftly she vanished the work, it wouldn't be good to be known as a swot, the Percy Weasley of Slytherin.
"Party?" she asked, if there was fire whiskey she'd be there of course, but first she wanted to know who was going.

"Well, if all of you are up to the idea, then so am I." Kain replied, and shrugged. "And Alice made up the idea, actually. So, she'll be there." He added, remembering that Martha said something about Alice. Then, Martha jumped up and ran over to Kain, and began ruffling his hair. He was to tired to fight back, but he wasn't going to just sit there and take it. So, thinking quickly, he reached out his hands and tickled Martha. It was all he could really think of doing, in the position that he was in. He was unsure as to whether she was ticklish, or not, but it was always worth a shot.

Martha squealed as Kain started tickling her. She was very ticklish! She laughed and continued ruffling his hair in a competition until she progressed what Erin had just told her.
Martha felt her excitement drain away somewhat as Erin admitted to her what had been going on. Martha had known that something had been bugging her friend the whole day, but kindly hadn't said anything. She hadn't expected it to be this.
Martha immediately returned to her previous seat, on the arm of the armchair Erin was nestled in. Martha didn't care about Erin's shape-shifting abilities, the only thing that worried her was Erin's sad face. Martha knew what it was like to be judged because of some special ability, after all she could talk to snakes. That was always seen as a bad thing, but Martha merely waved away nasty comments to her ability, for she thought of it as a gift. Martha knew that Erin was much more sensitive when it came to "the wolf". Erin couldn't control her ability like she could.
Martha gently patted Erin on the shoulder to comfort her friend. 'You'll come to the party, wouldn't you, Erin?' she asked, trying to brighten her friend up by changing the subject. 'We could pull a prank on Harry Potter?'

Erin laughed when Kain tickled Martha, she was suprised really that he didn't do more when she ruffled up his perfectly styled hair. Martha squealed and had a war with Kain, untill her face paled and she sat down next to Erin solemnly.
"I'm there!" She said quickly pushing her friend of the arm of her seat playfully, a good prank on Harry Potter, that would cheer her up, and who better to pull a prank on, especially with Martha's help.
"D'you know if there's fire-whiskey Kain?" She asked, trying not to show the mad gleam in her eye. It was a favourite of her dads and he would often give her a little sip when she was little. It was her favourite and always lightened up the mood of the place.

"Yeah, there." Kain pouted, jokingly, and watched Martha walk back to her previous seat. He totally won their competition. No doubt. He smiled at Erin, and shrugged. "You know Erin, your whole shape-shifting thing really isn't something to be ashamed of." He stood up, and grabbed a pair of darts, and began to through them calmly at the dart board he had put in years before. "Draco and I talked to Pansy, and she promised not to say anything to anyone about it, so you don't have to worry about her." Draco looked up at this statement, and nodded, while smirking. "She felt awful after Kain and I guilted her into it, didn't she, Winters?" He laughed, and Kain rolled his eyes. "Yes. Awful. So, Erin, you have everyone on your side." He admitted, and walked over to grab the darts out of the board, to throw them all again. Kain and Draco had actually came up with a whole extravagant lie, as to why Pansy simply couldn't tell anyone about Erin's wolf form.

Martha smiled at Kain gratefully. She was glad that everybody had been so nice to Erin when they had found out about her shape-shifting abilities, accepting just as quickly as she and Alice had. It must have certainly boosted her friend's confidence of the situation and Martha was pleased.
Martha started brainstorming for ideas on how to prank Harry Potter, that annoying angsty Gyffindor. Honestly, he complained so much and seemed so full of rage he needed a good pranking.
Martha rubbed her hands together, a evil glint in her eyes as she thought of the perfect prank...
