Martha just laughed. She hopped up and took hold of Fluffy. Poor Fluffy. He only wanted to be friends...
'I just told him to show you that he wasn't mean,' Martha replied to Kain innocently. 'You know, Kain,' she said matter-of-factly, as she returned to her position crossed-legged on the carpet, 'you really need to get over this fear of snakes.' Martha gave a disgruntled Fluffy a comforting stroke. 'Next you'll be scared of me!'
Martha grinned devilishly at Kain, trying to look as scary as possible. She didn't really blame Kain. Everyone had something they were afraid of. Martha was terrified of pot-dolls. It just seemed rather silly that a Slytherin should be scared of a snake. Especially a little snake such as Fluffy.
But Kain couldn't understand snakes like Martha could. Kain didn't know they were harmless and Kain couldn't control them.
'Maybe you should stay away from Kain for a bit?' Martha told Fluffy. She wondered if Parseltongue scared Kain as much as he was scared of the snake.

Erin watched Martha speak to Fluffy, the hissing and snarling noises didn't bother her, it was just natural for her friend.
She wondered if she could speak to wolves, it would be cool, she thought to listen to their howls so full of emotion. But she had never seen wolves in the wild, just in a zoo. They had looked so sad and mourneful, before she had been steered away by an exasperated mother. She acted like Erin made her life difficult on purpose.
She watched fluffy as he wrapped himself around Martha's wrist and closed his gem-like eyes. And Kain sat back down hesitantly, 'he won't hurt you,' she whispered to him, 'not if Martha tells him not too'
She drew back her head and pulled out her notebook and quill, slowly she began to sketch the outline of a wolf.

Kain brushed himself off gently, and sat back down. Draco was in a daze, most likely day dreaming about something. Or, someone. "Maybe I already am afraid of you." He raised his eyebrow, and tilted his head slightly to the side. His hair flopped towards the direction his head was, and Kain reached up to ruffle it softly. "And, I don't know. I don't think I can stop being afraid of snakes. it's really impossible, trust me." He tried to convince Erin and Martha. He sighed quietly, and closed his eyes. He was dreadfully tired, and it wasn't a good idea for him to be so active in the sun, after hiding away all summer. He should've taken smaller steps, and worked his way back to his usual pattern, but instead, he had led himself astray.

Erin looked at the clock and sighed, there was still two more lessons left, and care of amgical creatures would be starting soon. She stood up and yawned, it had been a long day and what she really wanted was food, but she knew that in a couple of hours dinner would be ready and after that, it was the party!!
"Oh well, care of magicals creatures next." She said, sure that everyone had almost forgotten about lessons. "Should make a start and get down there, i don't want to get a detention, though you already have one, don't you Martha." She grinned.
"i'm sure Hagrid won't have any Anacondas down there Kain!" she teased playfully, at the reluctance in his eyes, though her intuition told her he was worried about something bigger...she shook this thought off though, she was getting carried away with her imagination again. That was never good.

"I'm going to go ahead." Kain spoke, and stood up before either of the girls could. He wasn't looking foward to Care of Magical Creatures, for many reasons. All of which made this class his least favorite. He grabbed his bag as quick as he could, and threw it over his shoulder swiftly, and walked quickly towards the door. "See you three there, then." He said, and took one glance back, to say a silent "Later." and left.

Erin watched with bewilderment as Kain left suddenly, she hoped she hadn't said anything wrong.
"Right i need to get my Care of magical creatures book from my room, will you wait for me please?" She asked Martha before running up the stairs grabbing her leather bound book and running back down the stairs. She was breathless by the time she got down, and together the two girls walked off to Hagrids hut.

Erin sighed as she sat down in one of the black leather armchairs by the marble fire, of course Salazar Slytherin's house would have only the best furniture, she thought, but then faltered because she had never been in the other common-rooms before.
She pulled out the book from her bag and looked at it as if, her will power alone would open it. The firelight cast feflection dancing across the polished surface of the metal, it was only then that she noticed the runes inscribed along the edges. Made clear by the flickering firelight.
Excitedly she pulled out her ancient rune book and began to flick through the pages for the first rune. A first year came up to her whilst she worked, asking her some trivial question about the gob-stones club. She waved the terrified first year away after growling at him to look at the notice-board. Honestly, just because she was a prefect....
Martha sat down next to her an hour later, but was wise enough not to disrupt Erin while she worked. "What rune is that?" Erin asked, sketching out a rune that had been puzzling her for good ten minutes, she had searched the book twice and not found any trace of it.
"Eh? Oh it looks like Oniwaz," Martha muttered, "But half the rune looks scratched off."
Erin nodded and looked up the meaning for Oniwaz, before jotting it down.
When she was finished, she was left with a script that when translated read, 'Only that of tooth and claw, can open this book for ever more!'
Erin had a vague idea of what that meant, and new that only the Wolf could do it.
"Great!" She muttered under her breath.

Kain walked into the room, and saw Erin and Martha sitting on the couch, doing their homework. He knew it was obvious that he was in a lovesick fog, but he forgot about it, and sat down on the couch opposite the two girls. "Hello ladies." He said, still in the daze. He was grinning, and staring into space. He shook himself out of it, for he knew he needed to focus. After all, he couldn't fall for someone. No. Never. "So, i guess I'll need to decide what to wear for the party?" He asked, and looked at both of them seriously. "Everyone has been obsessing over it, and I figure, why not I?" He added, and thought about what he would wear. He was thinking about a white jacket, with black lining and a star, and black skinny jeans. Along with a belt, and loose suspenders, which would hang lazily down from his belt.

Erin was running her finger along the metal, pondering whether or not the Wolf would be able to unlock the book, it had made her so curious to find out what exactly was in this book. It must be something good she decided, otherwise they wouldn't bind it so carefully.
She jumped when Kain sat down opposite her and Martha, startling her out of her thoughts, Martha was doing her Care of Magical creatures homework, or ment to be. She was currently zooming peices of paper around the commonroom, hitting first years on the back of the head.
"You look happy!" Erin noted, as Kain was sitting there staring into space with a big grin stretched along his face.
"I wouldn't say i've been obssessing over what to wear," Erin said indignantly, but laughed as a paper ball hit Pansy in the back of the head. Martha put on her best innocent expression when Pansy looked round, and tried to look apart of the conversation. Honestly and she was head girl...
"I'm just wearing one of my old dresses," she said after rolling her eyes, "Oh and i heard Neville Longbottom is ment to be DJing," she said giggling. Oh it was going to be a fun night!

"Atleast there'll be some descent entertainment." Kyle said, walking into the common room in enough time to hear Erin say that Neville was going to be the dj.
"Its always fun to watch Longbottom make a fool of himself." He stated, a grin on his face. He sat down in a chair not far from Kain. He noticed that something seemed alittle different about Kain and couldn't help but wonder if it had something to do with his cousin.
"Whats gotten into you Winters?" He asked, crossing his arms, keeping his tone mildly friendly.

Chelsea, who had been sitting with Pansy, turned round irritatedly when a paper ball narrowly missed her head and hit Pansy instead
As she turned round she overheard what Erin said about Neville being DJ at the party and laughed maliciously, Kyle was right it would be fun to watch him make a fool of himself.
Bored of Pansy's constant whining about "her Draco" acting funny recently, Chelsea walked off and sat down next to Erin and Martha.
"So this party, where is it?" she asked flashing them a smile.Though she didn't approve of the two being so close to Gryffindors, she would tolerate it, they were fellow Slytherins after all.

"Wow look at this," Erin said grinning at Martha, "Chelsea, THE Chelsea not knowing where the party is that every one's talking about. Grapevine not fast enough?" She asked idily, turning to the girl who thought she was wizarding royalty. Martha began to fire paper balls across the common room again, though they had increased in size somewhat, and a first years cat was trying to paw them out of the air. Smelly creatures. With a flick of Erin's wand, a ball shot through the air and hit the cat lightly on the side, making it streak up and out the common room and into it's owners dormitry. When Martha glared at her she put on her best innocent expression and turned to Chelsea. Kain was still sitting with a huge uncharacteristic smile on his face. A knock at the window caught her attention though. Slytherin common room had very few windows, what with it being under the lake and all so she soon found the culprit, it was Whisp, Alice's tawny owl, with a note tied to his leg addressed to her. "Meet us at the room of recuirement in an hour!" She walked back over to her sofa and passed the note to Martha. "Well Chels if you do decide to grace us with your presence, the party is in the room of recuirement!" She winked at everyone before going up to the girls dorm with Martha.

Martha grinned at Chelsea's angered face when Erin winked at her.
'See you, Chelsea,' Martha said sweetly, standing up with Erin. It was fun to annoy that girl. She got annoyed so easily.
Erin and Martha made their way up to their dorm, chatting about the party. Martha was very excited. She couldn't wait for the pranking to begin!
Martha found the dress she had picked out with help from Alice but then turned to Erin suddenly.
'I better get on with making sure Filch doesn't find out the party soon,' Martha said with a characteristic mischievous glint to her eyes. Martha was an expert when it came to these sort of things and she couldn't wait to slow Filch down. He wouldn't know it had been Martha who had glued him to the floor but even if he found out Martha knew it would definitely be worth it.
This was party was going to rock.

"Yea take this," Erin said tossing a tennis ball size object across the room to Martha, "bash it hard against a wall, it won't smash, and then throw it as far as you can, it'll screech louder than a banshee and lure Filch to you for certain!" Erin said grinning at her friend before digging out her favourite dress from the bottom of her trunk.
"Hmmm," she standing in front of a floor length mirror with the dress in front of her, "Its a bit conspicious huh? I guess i'll have to wear my school cloak over it or something so the teachers don't get suspicious.
Then she dug out the muggle hair straightners that her mum had bout her and her dad and re-modified to work off of magic. She straightened her hair and grinned at Martha when she looked over, probably thinking she was crazy for not using magic. Then she pulled her hair all to the left and tied it in a loose pony tail so it hung down her side. then she put on her dress and shoes, finally she doned her bulky school cloak.
"I'll meet you in the Room of Recuirement then?" She asked her friend.

Martha grinned appreciatively at Erin as she handed her the ball. This was sure to get Filch running to her, screaming threats, all right.
Martha's eyebrows pinched in bafflement as she saw Erin take out her straighteners. Honestly, her friend had strange habits. Why didn't she just use a potion? Or a spell?
She used a spell on her own hair so the blonde locks fell in little ringlets. She then slipped into her dress and put on her high heeled shoes that would most likely make her fall later. She fell without the help of those death traps...
'Of course,' Martha replied to Erin as she asked if she would meet her in the room of requirements. 'I'll deal with Filch first.'
