"Yes, I do think Harry and you would make a rather...interesting couple."
He spoke, and listened as Penelope decided to read him another couple of cards.
Kain looked at his lap when Penelope read the first card. The eight of cups. The dreaded Eight of Cups, brought back memories in what seemed like a whirlwind of emotions.
He frowned quickly, and hid it, when he saw Penelope looking at him with an obvious hint of pity in her eyes.
The fool was correct, because, as Kain knew, he refused to be in a relationship for more than 50 years, and so he forgot what it was supposed to be like.
Kain already thought of himself as a hermit, so that card came as no suprise to him.
"Never Evvie."
Kain spoke, and shook his head, as if getting the thought away from his mind.
"Plus, I think Crabbe has a thing for her."
He said honestly, and stared blankly at Penelope.
"Well, let me read yours then?"
He asked, and didn't want to mess up. After all, Penelope had just gotten his love life spot on, and if he couldn't reply with the similar responce, he would feel like an idiot.
"The magician."
He said, and smiled softly.
"You know how to take the fool's mind, which is often wandering, and let it become focused on something. Obviously you are capable of making other people see what they want the most. That's always helpful."
He chuckled softly, and looked at the next card.
"The Lovers, but I guess that's bound to come up when you are talking about love readings. And, that's an obvious one. And, I don't think that it's talking about Harry..."
He trailed off, and stopped himself. He was about to make a move, and he inwardly cursed himself for not having the courage to follow through with it. It was a good idea, too.
"The tower."
He said, as he moved onto the next card.
"It says that you no longer care about the matter of ego, and you don't care what anyone thinks of your disicions, because deep down, you know you are doing what's best. Does this mean that your falling for a Slytherin, possibly?"
He asked, and winked at her. He could always say that he assumed she was falling for Draco again, if she asked.
"And last....The four of cups."
He paused, and continued to read it's meaning.
"I states that you must never take love for granted, because as soon as you do, it'll slip away. You must keep your eyes open for the signs, and if you do not treasure the love that you possess in your life, it'll slip away as easily as it happened."
He frowned, and placed the deck on the table.
"Interesting."
He whispered, and stared at the cards.
