Alice looked at her friend concerned.
Penelope looked really pale, almost faint. "Put your head between your legs if you feel faint" instructed Alice.
"do you want to go to the hospital?" sked Alice softly "Maybe Madame Pomfrey can give you something?" she said to her friend.

Kain peered over at Penelope and Alice, and noticed a gruesome look on Penelope's face. Certainly Ron's dreadful smell had something to do with it. He saw that Snape looked concerned, slightly, and was about to ask something, but Kain interrupted. "I can bring her to the Infirmiry, but that really depends on whether or not she wants help." He suggested, knowing that if she went alone, and collapsed, he could atleast help her. He looked at the two, and noticed that Alice had said the same thing.

Penelope could feel her cheeks grow hot, more from embarrassment than from feeling dizzy. 'Great, now everyone thinks I'm a loser,' she thought to herself. She took in a deep breath.
She forced a smile at her friend Alice and then up at Professor Snape. She really hated being the center of attention for something like this.
'Curse Ron's inability to do the right potion,' she yelled inside her head.
"I'm fine, really. But perhaps I should go get a breath of fresh air..if thats alright with you Professor." She replied outloud.
She hoped that Prof. Snape wouldn't argue since she was already finished with her potion. She stood up and made her way for the door.

Kain saw Penelope head for the door, and stood. "Let me help you." He said, and pushed in his chair, winking at Draco, who just smiled unnaturally. The bell was going to ring in ten minutes, and Kain really needed something to waste the last minutes of Potion Class. He looked over at Snape, who nodded at him. Well, at least he was okay with some of his best students leaving for a short while.
Penelope seemed embarrassed, and Kain could tell. So easily. As the two walked outside slowly, Kain smiled down at her. "You don't have to be embarrassed, it's not your fault at all." He spoke, softly, so other classrooms wouldn't be disturbed. He winked at the gryffindor. "Plus, if you happen to pass out," He smirked, "I can always carry you to the infirmary." He chuckled, and looked straight ahead. "I don't think Alice would be able to do that, now." He added, which was true. Alice was fragile, and had not been working for 50 years on her biceps. Well, not that he knew of.

Penelope laughed, the air outside the classroom was already making her feel alittle better. She was also secretly glad that Kain had joined her outside. She wasn't really sure why she was happy, nor why he had decided to do so.
"I don't know, she could be a female body builder that just happens to look fragile." She said in response, jokingly. She knew this wasn't true, but still the possibility was humorous.
She shook her head, "I know its not my fault.. and maybe I just should have skipped breakfast this morning. That potion was icky." She said, and wrinkled her nose. "It's really nice of you to walk with me by the way. I guess spending time with me is at least a little better than agonizing moments in potions class?" She asked, laughter in her voice.
She really was starting to enjoy spending the little time that she did with Kain. She couldnt' help but wonder if he felt the same. Maybe she'd bug his sister about it later. Then again, probably not.

"Oh that's true." He thought, and chuckled at the image of Alice being a body builder.
"Well, yes. Ron has shown that he's not very good with potions, in general." Kain admitted, and sighed. "He's really rather dreadful at it." He added.
"No problem." He said, and looked straight ahead. The two had stopped by an open window, a vastly large one, in which both could fall out if they leaned over far enough. "And, it depends. Sometimes Potions Class can be quite entertaining." He joked, and looked at the black lake, resting besides the forest. "You feeling any better, though?" He asked, and hoped she would say no. Not because he didn't care about her well-being, more like, he wanted to talk to her, and get out of potions.

"You feeling any better, though?" Kain had asked Penelope. In all honesty, Penelope was feeling better, but she didn't want to go back to potions right now.. for more than one reason. So she simply shook her head no, of course she figured that he'd be able to tell that it was a lie, due to the fact that a small smile spread across her lips. She really was not the best lair in the world.
"You're right. Ron is pretty horrible in potions, but atleast he still tries. Thats all that matters isn't it?" She asked. She followed his gaze to the black lake.
Penelope loved the sight of the water, and being close to it. Something about water always made her feel calm. She let out a soft sigh.
"The black lake is so pretty, don't you think?" She asked. She turned back to him, in hopes of saying something else, but she was interupted by other students coming down the hall. Apparently the classes were now over.

Kain smiled at Penelope's inability to lie. It was cute.
When she turned her attention to the Black Lake, Kain sighed. "Sure. It's beautiful." He said, softly. He wasn't going to let her know that he was terribly afraid of water. He wasn't just afraid of it, Kain was never big on the things that lived in the lake as well. He would much rather swim in a pool that was life infested-free, than that dirty, disease ridden lake. He heard doors open, and students quickly began pouring into the hallway. "Well, I've got to run. Draco needs to copy my homework for next class, and he'll be pissed if I don't find him." He said, and winked at Penelope. "If you need me, just call." He smirked, and walked back towards the Potions Classroom, where Draco was just coming out of. "Shall we go, so you can copy my homework like you always do?" He asked Draco, who nodded, smiling.
And with that, the two boys headed to the abandoned courtyard.

Penelope smiled as Kain walked back to Draco. She shook her head at the two of them, wondering what was getting into her.. talking so freely with Kain.. someone who she hadn't really talked to that much before the train ride. She let out a sigh and went back to Potions class to get her things before walking with Alice to the courtyard.

After finishing lunch October headed off to the dungeons, although she was a bit early she was eager to have her first potions class. She slipped silently into the room, it was a dark lit only by candles which flickered eerily sending strange shadows across the room. Sitting down by a desk near the front she noticed that she wasn't the only one in the room, a man with lank greasy black hair had just emerged from the store cupboard. "oh! hello sir, sorry I'm early i hope you don't mind" she said in suprise, smiling at the teacher.

Snape didn't expect anyone to be in his classroom, as he came out with supplies for his next class. "It's fine." He said, when she apologized for being early. He wasn't going to ask her name, because, frankly, he didn't really care right now. He always figured out students names eventually. He placed all the supplies around the students desks, and sat at his desk.

Evvie came running into the Potions class, she wrinkled her nose once she entered. "Doesn't anyone believe in sunlight around here?" She questioned. She spotted October sitting by herself and waved happily, even bouncing up and down as she waved. Anyone who saw her would think that she ate pure sugar for lunch due to the amount of hyperness she had.
She skipped over happily to her new friend and sat down. "Interesting first day huh?" She said and made a face. She then looked over at the Professor sitting at his desk. She stared at him curiously, wondering if he'd be even half as bad as Umbridge.

Andie slipped into the dungeons for Potions. Even though she didn't really like the location, or the teacher, for that matter, Andie still sort of liked the class. Andie saw October and Evvie already there, and opted for a seat much closer to the board. Even though, Andie had cat vision, she wanted to be near the board anyway. Despite the fact that she didn't really like Professor Snape, she still tried to be nice. "Afternoon, Professor," she said as she took her seat.

Snape saw a young girl with pink hair enter the room, and he almost had a heart attack. She certainly was an essentric young woman. "Afternoon Miss Maori, I expect all of you to begin writing down all the notes on the board about the potion we will be making today..." He said in his usual Monotone voice. He wasn't happy today, (like he ever was) Mainly because Dumbledore had told him to befriend the new teacher, Professor Umbridge. She was a rotten woman, that much was clear, and none of the students like her, even the slightest.
