Erin walked quickly to Hagrids hut, she had always loved animals, especially the little ones. Just so long as they had no trace of feline blood in them at all.
The breeze was very cool and the leaves of the forbidden forest rustled together creating a soft melodius music that one could only appreciate if they had spent most their childhood outside.
Hagrid was busy bustling around his little shack of a home when Erin approached with Martha talking happily next to her. She nodded a greeting to Kain and then sat down on the floor, resting her chin on her knees and staring into the black expanse of the forest as people slowly drifted over.

Martha sat down next to Erin on the floor, smiling around her happily as the rest of the class began to trickle over. She couldn't wait to find out what sort of animals they would be learning about today. Knowing Hagrid, it would probably be something unusual.
Martha grinned at Kain in a greeting. He seemed pretty down. Maybe it was something to do with the glinting sun that set everything in a warm orange light?
'What do you reckon we'll be doing today?' Martha murmured to Erin as Hagrid approached the class. 'Please let it be snakes!' She laughed, thinking just how much chaos she would be able to cause with that. Unfortunately snakes weren't exactly that magical... unless it was a basilisk and Martha doubted Hagrid would unleash that on the class. It was a tad dangerous for students, not that Martha would have a problem controlling it.
Still. You never know. Especially with the Professor they had now.

The sun beat down on the students, as they lounged about the tiny hut, but despite it's appearance the autumn breeze was ever presant, Erin hated the cold. When she was a wolf, she couldn't feel a single thing, her thick fur was the best protection, but she new better than to wish for it. 'Be careful what she wish for', was a favourite saying of her mothers.
She was about to answer Martha's question when the wind stirred up the area, stalks of grass waved, the leaves shook harder and the unmistakable scent of cats wafted over.
"Oh no, Cats, Cats why cats," she moaned. Today just didn't seem to be her day.

'Cats?' Martha echoed in bewilderment to Erin's moan. 'Where?'
With a grin, Martha started searching the grounds for cats and then her gaze came to rest on her friend. She couldn't help giggling. Her friend was screwing up her nose and muttered under her breath something about cats, her eyes narrowed into a glare. Poor Erin! She hated cats. She couldn't even stand Martha's! It was a bit like Kain with snakes.
Martha patted Erin on her shoulder, trying to look solemn. 'It'll be fine,' she said reassuringly. 'Just don't...you know...' Martha flashed a smile at Erin, 'get up and chase them or anything...'
Erin glared at Martha and her weak joke. Martha shrugged sheepishly. She was horrible in these situations. She hoped Erin would be OK with the unwanted feline company...

"If i chased them i would come nearer to them!" She said indignantly to her friends comment about chasing cats. Why would people chase something they hate?
"Would you chase chucky the pot doll, or the manikins at Eden Camp?" She asked then smirked when she hit the mark, Martha hated pot dolls!
"Anyway the cats are around the other side of the hut, probably so hagrid can make a grand entrance for them."

Martha shuddered when Erin mentioned pot-dolls. She had a point. This was certainly one argument Martha had lost.
'Fair enough,' Martha said with a grin. But the image of pot-dolls creeping after her was suddenly lodged into her brain, making her more jumpy than usual.
She suddenly knew how Erin was feeling. If she had to act normal while Hagrid exposed pot-dolls for this lesson she would have probably ran screaming from the premises. Her friend was a lot braver than her.
'Looks like he's making the grand enterance now,' Martha mumbled as Hagrid strode over to them...

Kain ran his fingers over the binding of his book impatiently. He was really getting slightly annoyed at the timing of this class. Had it been earlier in the day, it would've been cool, and darker. But, of course, he would be stuck with the hot, sun-setting time of the day. He nodded a welcome to both Erin, and Martha, and hoped they weren't upset at him for leaving on such short notice. After all, he basically just ran out of the room. Draco came in shortly after, and sat beside Kain, and dropped his book on the ground, and stepped on it, closing its mouth, which was previously tearing at Draco's sleeves. Hagrid looked upset at Draco, after all, a few years earlier, he had told everyone how to open their books, and calm them down, and still, Draco resisted. Kain was busy trying to get his thoughts off of the sun and the heat, by thinking about Penelope. He was looking foward to their time in the library, but at the same time, Kain's heart tore at him from the inside, it told him that he shouldn't feel anything for Penelope. But, Kain couldn't help it. After all, you wouldn't stop dreaming just because your mind told you not to. Its something that just....happens.
Kain saw Hagrid petting a small cat-like creature, and looked over comfortably, in Erin and Martha's direction. He knew Erin had a fear of cats, and could tell she was alittle uncomfortable with the lesson plan for today.

Martha was deep in "conversation" (it could only growl back) with her Care of Magical creatures book, much to everyone's bewilderment, when Hagrid lead the Kneazles over.
'They're so cute!' Martha laughed, pulling a Kneazle into her lap and stroking behind its large, spotted ears as Hagrid explained that they were intelligent, independent creatures.
Luckily this Kneazle seemed to like Martha, judging by the loud purring it emitted. Otherwise it could have ripped her hand off by now. Martha glanced across at Erin, who was edging away from her and smiled. Poor Erin. She wondered if she would make it through this lesson.

Erin was watching her friend talk to the book, in confusion. It was slightly strange, but cool.
She stroked the spine of her cover, that was bound with a black belt and she wasn't undoing it willingly. With a humph the book flopped over and she began to randomnly flick through the yellow pages. She liked this book, it had tried to take a bite out of her sister.
She watched as Martha grabbed a kneazle and sat it on her lap, the cat started to purr deeply, setting it's orb like eyes on Erin, she was soo glad the wolf was sleeping, tired out from taking over her body earlier. Gingerly she tried to scoot away on her bum, the cat was still staring at her and it stank. She had gone about 3 foot when she hit something hard, "Ow" she gasped, she hadn't realised someone was behind her.
"Oh gosh i'm so sorry" she said standing up, embarrased.

Alice had come tottering down with the others from the courtyard, she spotter Erin and martha and bounded over to them accidently bumping into Erin.
"Hey Erin" she laughed sitting down.
She noticed the kneazle sitting in Martha's lap and she smiled.
"Oh he's so cute" she said as she reached over to stroke it, the kneazle seemed to be staring at her evily as when she went to stroke it, the thing bit her.
"OW" she yelped holding her sore hand "It bit me!"
The others just laughed at her and the kneazle looked smug with itself.

'Bad Kneazle!' Martha scolded as the cat-like creature bit Alice.
'Get off 'er, yeh furry beast,' Hagrid said, looking apologetically at Alice. After the incident with Draco Malfoy and Buckbeak he tried to be very careful about animals hurting other students.
Martha petted the Kneazle, trying to distract it from glaring at Alice.
'Oh, Alice?' Martha remembered suddenly, unleashing her beam on her friend. 'You know the party tonight? Well, for a prank we're going to jinx Harry Potter's hair pink! Don't you think he'll suit that?'

Alice laughed.
"Ah its ok" she said giving her hand a rub.
She looked a little shocked but laughed, "I'm sure if you asked the right people then the prank will be ingenious"
she laughed I'll keep the secret you just tell me what to watch out for tonight ok.
"Oh what are you wearing tonight then" she asked the two trying to start a conversation.
"Its going to be a proper party so party clothes are needed" she laughed "though I've no idea what I'm wearing"

"Oh yea Kain said there was a party," Erin called over to Alice from her place, five feet away from her friends. She knew she was being silly but she couldn't help it. The cat had bitten Alice, which just proved they were dangerous and not to be trusted. But now it was looking at her again. She wouldn't give the kneazle chance to bite her, no way.
She thought over what she was going to wear, finally deciding on some muggles clothes.
"Erm i think i'll wear, my black Khaki pants, and my longish silver vest top," she said. "What time does the party start? and will there be," She looked around for Hagrid before mouthing "Fire-whiskey?" She asked, resting her chin on her knees and trying to breathe through her mouth so the catty smell wouldn't catch her.
Why did it have to be cats?

Martha grinned at Erin as she scooted away from them, obviously uneasy because of the Kneazles.
'Don't worry,' Martha told the Kneazle, tickling it behind its ears. 'It's not just you. Erin doesn't like cats in general.' The Kneazle looked at her with half-open, dreamy eyes and continued purring. It was hard to communicate with animals when they didn't have a clue what they were saying. That's why Martha liked snakes so much.
Martha nodded when Erin called over what she was going to wear. What could she wear? She hadn't really thought about that, being far too preoccupied with her scheming. 'I guess I'll wear my black skirt and my new turquoise vest top,' she mulled over. 'With dolly shoes that match the colour of the top.' She smiled.
'I'm guessing there will be fire-whiskey, Erin,' she called over to her friend, being far less discrete than she had. Luckily, Hagrid was busying with the Kneazles and didn't seem to hear her. 'What do you think about spiking the punch?'
Honestly, Martha thought suddenly, she had no idea why she had applied for Head Girl. But then again, nobody in Slytherin ever seemed to respect the rules.

"Spiking the punch? isn't that a bit harsh, do we really want a drunk neville longbottom on our hands?" Erin calle over. Honestly the ideas Martha came up with, and she had applied to be head girl as well. Erin shook her head.
She listened to Hagrid as he spoke about the kneazles, saying how they have an uncanny ability to detect unsavoury or suspicious characters and they can guide their owners home, whilst lost. As usual Erin took careful notes about all the specific points, what they eat, the number of kittens they could have.
Then when Hagrid instructed them to get to know, their kneazles, she began to sketch out the creature. Trying to look busy so as not to attract the teachers attention.
