Will nodded at jared. "Well my faveourite muggle music is defintely Bowling for soup and Metallica and Escape the fate" he said "And I like You meat six as well" he said happily "I don't mind scouting for girls though its one of those bands every one just knows" he laughed but with a look on the confused faces he sighed "Well muggles maybe, oh and I like eminem as well" he said, he turned to erin and Martha "I like bonjovi as well and meatloaf" he finnished.
What about you Alice he asked her smiling.

Kain realized that Penelope just noticed him. He inwardly sighed, and peered over at her. She had just asked him about his favorite music, and Kain couldn't really say. For, he didn't have a favorite. He really didn't even listen to music anymore. He shook his head. "I don't like much music." He said, and shrugged. "Sorry...." He added, knowing he just shut down any hope of having a conversation with Penelope. She seemed happier talking with the others, anyways. He knew some typical stuff, you know, like Metallica, as Will had said. But, he still didn't know much. And, even though he played piano, he played songs he wrote himself. Mostly. He heard Will mention a band called...Scouting for Girls? And said that it was something everyone knew. And, Kain had never even heard of it. Obviously everyone who didn't hide away in their estate the entire summer knew them.

Penelope smiled and shook her head, "Don't be sorry. I'm completely lost in this conversation too." She replied, she walked over to stand by him so that she wouldn't be interupting the conversation for the others, and also this way she wouldn't be talked over.
"You knew so much about the guitar in Muggle Studies, do you know how to play one too?" She asked. She hoped that she wasn't bothering him by trying to include him in a conversation, besides there was so much more that she wanted to find out about Kain.
"Figures that you'd find a muggle instrument interesting Penelope," Kyle said, slightly annoyed by the fact that she was now standing beside him as well.
Penelope grinned at Kyle, sometimes it was more fun to be nice to him than to put hexes on him. She turned back to Kain, looking for any indication that he didn't feel like really talking right now.

Kain was relieved when Penelope added that she too, was uncomfortable in the conversation. That made 4 of them, counting Draco ad Kyle. "Oh, I only know about guitars. I don't actually play them. See, my father is a big guitar fan, actually. He collects them." That was true, Stephen collected Guitars, and Kain was often found gazing up at all of them hanging on the wall. After all, it wasn't like he had something better to do. Slowly, but surely, he could now recognize many guitars, just by the shape, or the color. "I Tried, once. But it didn't work out well." He smiled, and laughed at Penelope and Kyle's back and forth bickering. "I am a master at piano, though. If i do say so myself." He chuckled, and looked towards the cloudy sky. It was lovely, the rain. And, what made it even more so, was Kain's ability to talk with ease to Penelope.

Penelope's eyes widened in wonder when Kain said that he played the piano. Penelope had loved piano music ever since she first heard one being played years ago.
"You play the piano? That's amazing!" Penelope gushed, she really hoped that she would be able to hear him play sometime.

"Mhmm." Kain nodded, and couldn't help but laugh at Penelope's expression. It was only piano, and Penelope was looking at him like he had 8 eyes on his forehead. He reached up and touched his face, to make sure. Nothing. "Well, you play violin, right?" He asked, and smiled. "That's quite interesting, Violin is truely a lovely instrument." He smiled at her, and looked at her through his grey eyes.
"I'll play a song on piano for you sometime, but you need to play a violin song for me. Deal?" He asked, since he was looking forward to hearing Penelope play violin.

Penelope blushed, "Sounds great. I love the Piano, but Father says that I could only learn to play one instrument and well.. violin was it." She said with a shrug.
She couldn't wait to hear him play. Hearing piano music had the same affect as when she played the violin. It was like the outside world completely disappeared and all that was left was her and the music. She wondered if Kain felt the same way when he played.
There was no way that she could think to ask him without sounding completely insane. So she didn't. She could tell from the conversation that the group was still talking about what bands were better, and what they should play at the party.
"Oh, if I were anyone, I'd watch out for Filch today. He's in a very bad mood. Someone glued Mrs. Norris to the floor right outside the Gryffindor Common Room." She informed everyone, deciding that they should know before making too much noise about the party later. She turned back to Kain.
"Thats why I was running late, Filch accused me of doing it." She informed and rolled her eyes.

"Ah, but you like the Violin, no? So maybe, that's the instrument for you. You see, I could never see myself playing anything other than piano." He admitted, and Penelope said something about Filch. Kain sucked in a breathe, and chuckled. "So that's why you were late..." He laughed, and thought about the image of Filch getting upset over Mrs. Norris. The first time he heard her name, he thought she was a teacher, until Filch started crooning her name to a cat. And, even then, Kain was convinced Mrs. Norris was an animagous, or something of the sort. But, alas, she was only a cat.
"And wow, Penelope. It seems like you are getting yourself in a load of trouble today." He joked, and thought about Defense Against the Dark Arts with Umbridge. The vile woman had seen Kain in the hallway earlier, and Kain avoided her at all costs.

Penelope sighed, "I know! Want to take a guess as to who Filch forced me to talk to when he accused me? Umbridge. Ugh that woman. But thankfully they asked the fat lady told them that I wasn't the one that did it, even if my book was sitting there beside Mrs. Norris." She stated.
Penelope could feel herself getting aggervated again but forced it down, "Well atleast its not going to be a boring year." She said with a wry smile.

Kain laughed delightfully when Penelope started ranting on about Filch and Umbridge. "She really is a vile woman." Kain added, and Draco agreed.
"it certainly is bound to be an interesting year. Hogwarts is really gotten many new additions." Kain added, and smiled. He was looking foward to their next class, and was also looking foward to the time with Penelope he would enjoy after school.

"Class is over now," Hagrid informed the students. Unfortunately for some, it was still raining.
"Well atleast its not real hot out here any more, I hate when the sun is beaming down." Penelope said. She grinned at Kain and summoned an umbrella.
She was about to say something else to him when Gryffin grabbed Penelope's arm and pulled her over to the side.

"Yes, if the sun was pounding down, I'm not sure what I'd do. I'm not really a fan of the sun." Kain smiled down at her, and took the umbrella and held it over her head. He was taller, after all, and was simply being a gentleman, when Gryffin pulled her aside. He watched as the two began talking, and stood, for he wasn't going to leave without her. Especially when he was holding her summoned umbrella.

"Did you say that you got blamed for Mrs. Norris being glued to the floor?" Gryffin asked, he was frowning, which was a first for him.
"Yeah.." Penelope replied, looking at him bewilderedly.
"I'm so sorry. I was trying to keep Filch busy for a little while and so I came up with a list of things that I could do, and one was using the sticking charm to glue Mrs. Norris to the floor. I guess Filch must have been walking through the corridor before I got the chance to go back and unstick her." Gryffin explained.
"You did that? Then why was my Care for Magical Creatures book right there too?" Penelope asked.
Gryffin smiled ruefully and rubbed the back of his neck, "Well.. I er.. was going to bring your book to class for you because I saw it in the common room when I went to get mine." He informed. "I guess I kind of dropped it when I preformed the charm."

Penelope just shook her head at Gryffin, it was hard to be mad at him when she could tell that he really didn't mean for her to get in trouble. "Its fine," She said. Gryffin quickly gave Penelope a hug and then rushed off to meet up with some friends, no doubt to find new pranks.
"I swear, if he weren't one of my best friends I would hex him." She stated, almost to herself. She shrugged at Kain and glanced out at the rain. Alot of the other students were already heading back toward the castle.
"Hey Kain, are you familiar with a muggle saying about the rain? Gryffin told me a couple of years ago. its really silly." Penelope thought for a moment, trying to remember it.
"Oh right.. Its raining, its pouring..." then she stopped, and looked at him, a silly grin on her face. "Thats all I remember." she stated with another simple shrug.

"The old man is snoring." He added. "He got out of bed, and bumped his head, and didn't wake up till the morning." He smiled down at her, and held the umbrella over her head as they walked towards the school. They were probably not headed to the courtyard, since it was pouring. "So, where do you want to go during break? I'll walk you there." He said, as they got nearer to the castle.
