Kyle glared at Gryffin and then slowly walked into the dark room. He used Lumos to see into the room. Just like in the part of the castle that they had seen before, this also had candleholders mounted onto the walls. He quickly lit them using magic and moved over so that the rest of the group could join him.
This room looked like a shelter of some sort, there were markings all over the walls. He looked at Erin, "What do you think this was used for?" He asked.

Alice entered the room after Will, it was amazing how can such a beautiful room be locked down here, something must be wrong. the walls were covered with frosted mirrors it was amazing. She began to search the room humming the tune once upon a december sweetly. There was a diamond chandaliar covered in spider webs hanging from the ceiling and the tiles were black.
"This rooms amazing she lit the torches on the chandiliar and the room was suddenly a light with colour, in the middle of the floor was a circle of runes like this room was used for some sort of ceremony, Alice approaced it caustiously

"I don't know, maybe holding illegal animals or something," she guessed as she edged into the room.
It was very creepy, and the atmosphere was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The torch light was flickering over the walls, showing large gashes that lookes thick, even in the torch lit room. A dark substance oozed over the walls and the air was stale. The wolf inside her was whimpering out of fear, which was strange for the strong creature.
"Boo!" the sound made her jump. She whirled around to see Martha laughing behind a frightened Gryffin.
Honestly, she thought rolling her eyes. Those two were cut from the same tree.

Kain smiled at Penelope. She really was being awefully kind to him. He looked around the room, and walked towards a bust statue of a woman, it was of greek origin, and both arms were missing. It saddened Kain, and he turned to see what the other two were looking at. Penelope was looking at a family crest, and Draco was flipping through the old books. "Hmm." Kain murmered, and walked over to the couch. He sat down, and there was an old picture looming next to it. It was dark, even though the family seemed to be happy and smiling. The young boy was there, as well as Evangeline, and the man. The boy was running around laughing, and the mother was following him, while the father just stood.
There was a book next to it, and Kain picked it up, and brushed off the dust. It had no title on the front of the book, but was made with red leather and golden binding. He looked through it, and it was someone's journal. Kain closed it, for he didn't feel he could read it. Not that he was against reading it, he just couldn't.
He put it down on the table, and sat back down on the couch.

Penelope was still examining the family crest when all of a sudden a loud screech disrupted the silence in the room. The loud noise caused Penelope to jump. The screech was followed by the sound of large wings flapping. The noise was coming from the hallway.
Penelope readied her wand and went to see what it was. Perched on the doorway a few doors down was a big black crow. It was perhaps the largest crow that Penelope had ever seen. In its mouth was what looked like an old scroll. A red ribbon tied around the middle to keep the scroll closed.
The crow dropped the scroll onto the floor and screeched once more, looking at Penelope with its large glowing yellow eyes.

Gryffin jumped when Martha yelled boo, but he laughed directly afterward. "Good one," He said to Martha.
"Maybe there was a psychopath that lived in the castle and the towns people locked them away in this room. I heard thats what they did to people that were completely mad, locking them away in a basement or a tower where they wouldn't be able to hurt themselves, or anyone else." Gryffin said, still grinning. His blue eyes shined, as an idea came into his mind.

Kain heard what sounded like a bird screech, and turned to the direction of the door calmly. He stood up, and nodded Draco over, who was buried in a book. "Take it with you Draco." Kain spoke, and headed towards the door. He looked at the elegant crow, if crows could ever be elegant, and it stared right at Penelope once it dropped its scroll. "You want to read it?" Kain asked her, and peered straight into the crow's eyes. The crow kept its gaze on Penelope, and it made Draco snicker.

"Whats so funny Malfoy?" Penelope asked, calling Draco by his last name to sort of tease him. Besides, she actually liked Draco's last name.
Penelope tried to decide whether or not she should go close enough to the crow in order to get the scroll or just let it sit there. What if the crow was setting a trap. Could crows even set traps? Penelope was sure that she was being silly and so she took the two small steps and reached down to pick up the scroll.
"Do you think it would be okay for me to read it?" Penelope asked, looking over at Kain. Kain gave her the go- ahead and so she gently removed the red ribbon and put it in her pocket so that she wouldn't lose it. Then she continued to open the scroll.
Written on the scroll in very beautiful, yet old fashion handwriting was what looked like a letter. Penelope began reading it out loud.
"To My Dearest Son, I am writing this letter with a heavy heart. Words can not express how sorry I am for the way that your father has treated you as of late. The cruelty and judgement on his behalf is almost unforgivable, but I request that you take into account everything that he has been through. I know it seems unimaginable but he does love you. Perhaps one day he will make ammends for the things he's said and done. Until then, my dear child, just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. No matter where this life takes you. With love always, Your mother- Evangeline."
Penelope didn't really know what to say, the sadness in the letter caused Penelope's heart to ache. She couldn't help but wonder if it was the little boy from the pictures that the mother had written the letter to. And if so, what had the father done?
Penelope rolled the parchment back up and reattached the red ribbon.

Kain listened calmly as Penelope read the letter aloud. He had to force himself not to cry. Because it seemed like all of this memory had came swarming back to him, but he held it in. Draco seemed to know exactly what Kain was thinking, and patted him on the shoulder. But, Kain didn't want anyone to pity him. He hated having people pity him, more than anything.
Kain looked down at the ground and remembered everything clearly. The picture of himself on the wall did look like him, but Kain hadn't seen pictures of his childhood in ages. He completely forgot what his parents looked like as well. There was a tinge of shame in the back of Kain's mind. How could he have forgotten his parents? He looked at his watch, and relealized that class was almost over. "C'mon guys, Its probably time for us to go. Does everyone want to take a keepsake?" He asked, and wanted to go back for the journal. "Cause I'm taking this journal." He said, walking back and grabbing the red-leather book and slidding it under his arm. Draco took the book he was reading, and Kain looked over at Penelope quickly. "What are you going to take Penelope?"

Penelope thought for a moment, still holding the scroll in her hand. Taking something from the castle seemed alittle strange for her, she felt like she was taking something from someone that may come back looking for it. However, the crow did kind of drop the scroll in front of her, as if asking her to read it.
"I'm not really sure." Penelope said quietly, unable to explain this sense that something was going on that she was completely missing. She followed the two boys into the room they were in before. She waited while the two boys took what they were planning on keeping.

"Well, take the letter." Kain stated, and looked at Penelope, straight in the eyes. "After all, the crow showed up in front of you, and gave it to you, obviously for some reason." He suggested, and started to head downstairs. After the occurance with the pictures and letter, Kain couldn't stand to be in this house anymore.
Draco and Kain waited for Penelope to decide what she wanted to keep. "Plus, Miss Antionette said that we could take a keepsake." Draco said, and Kain nodded while staring at the wall. "Yes, she did..." He sighed, and beckoned Penelope to move along. "Just take it, it's not a big deal. No one is coming back here."

Alice approached the circle and in the middle a book suddenly appeared. "Wow, how did that" she mentally hit herself magic duh. She went and picked up the book smiling to herself, it was really pretty and decorated with precious gems. There was a seal though it was in the shape of a star Alices eyes darted across the room, Alice tried to move out of the circle with the book she could leave the circle but the book couldn't.
"Hey see if you can find some thing that fits this seal" she said to the others. "Its in the shape of a five pointed star" said Alice.

"Okay," Penelope sighed, noting Kain's hurry to get out of the castle. She quickly put the letter in her pocket. and followed the two boys down the stairs.
Penelope looked questioningly at Draco, in hopes that he would shed some light on Kain's sudden mood swing from when they arrived at the castle. Unfortunately, Draco wouldn't meet her eyes. She decided not to push.

Erin strode into the middle of the room after her heart beat had slowed down.Martha was looking pretty pleased with her self and Gryffen had a mad glint in his eye. Oh no, she thought, it was going to turn into one of those scaring matches.
She lifted her wand high and muttered lumos, bringing more light into the damp room. Old yellowing parchment cluttered the floor, with smashed ink bottles and broken quills that had came from extravagant birds such as peacocks and eagle owls.
when she went to spin round her foot came off the ground with a horrible squelching sound. She shuddered.
"So what about you Kyle, what sort of spooky creature do you think lived here?" She said turning to the taller boy and grinning.

"I wouldn't be surprised if we found ghosts just like Peeves living here. Wasn't it ink bottles that Peeves was throwing at Umbridge not that long ago?" he said, with an amused grin touching his lips.
"Shall we continue on through this room or should we go back upstairs and see what else this castle holds?" He asked. He didn't feel like taking lead on this.
